Envy!

The design brief was to produce shop signage for a hair salon 

incorporating a matrix of stylized portraits behind a 

rich, sinfully-coloured title "Envy"...

 

 

 

....images from a photolibrary were assembled to form the

background matrix and manipulated in photo software packages

to created a hazy but glamorous background...

...and a few trial graphic titles added for illustration - the 

final version would be in elegant, scripted lettering and would

be applied to an transparent acrylic sheet fixed by spacers in front 

of the images of the staff themselves !

Found an old print I had made in my darkroom around 1978 - taken on a Pentax K1000 SLR 

This scan has been tidied up to remove scratches, etc and will probably be printed onto canvas shortly...in a more landscape format possibly.
